Wait, what did she just say? “You’re.. You’re not going to leave?” He asked.
“I’ll leave if you want me to? Just tell me when to, and i’ll be on my way… If that’s alright with you…” She tilted her head, waiting to hear his response.
“Um. Actually. I haven’t seen anyone in ages.. I don’t count the turrets and I certainly don’t count her. I’ve not seen a testing subject in the longest of times.” He laughed nervously. “You’re really the only one I’ve talked to in… In about a year or so, maybe if that short..” His voice went hushed.
“Really? That must be terrible…” She mumbled to herself, thinking of what he must’ve went through for that whole year. Grimacing, she stared at the floor before closing her eyes. Suddenly changing in demeanor, the droid looked up to him smiling. “Well now ya don’t have to worry about being alone anymore, right mate?”
cake-and-grief-counselling asked: Sun flower: What brings you happiness?

Wheatley cleared his throat and shook his head. “N…” He was about to stutter again, but caught himself in time. Again, he cleared his vocals and spoke. “No. I’ll be fine.” His blush was finally started to cool down and fade away.
“Alright then!” Whitney pulled open the door and poked her head out, looking around. “Is this place completely empty or is everyone on a massive break?” She moved back in and closed the door for a brief second before reopening it, expecting people to appear out of nowhere.

Wheatley could have just died! He could have died!! The soft kiss that was planted onto the core almost caused him to feel faint and his circuits to fry! Wheatley’s gears spun wildly as he stared at the girl. “O-Ok..” He was able to make out.
Whitney held a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing. Turning back to him on her heel, she smiled innocently at him. “Anything I can do to help you with that stutter of yours?”
Anonymous asked: Will you and Rick get married someday?
“Married? Isn’t that what humans do?” She hesitated. “I don’t think Rick would ever even want to anyways, so I can’t give you an answer on that… Sorry…”
Oh dear Aperture. She was so… Was he really thinking it? A quick shake of the head and he chirped out, “Yes! Fine! All is well!” Though of course that wasn’t the case. His metal blushed furiously, feeling the soft touch of her hands on his metal.
“If you’re sure…” She didn’t move for the moment, and pressed her lips to the metal for only an instant before she turned away and dropped her hands to her sides. “Be careful not to overheat, eh?”
Wheatley blinked innocently at the girl touched his cold metal. It was true, where he was warming up a bit and she clearly noticed the blushing. But as she placed her hand onto him, his metal only became warmer and warmer, his optic staring directly at her so close to his face and his optic light gave her an unsteady stare. He couldn’t help but shift it all around nervously back and forth, admiring all the features of her face. The core couldn’t seem to make any words out, but only studders. “I-I.. Um. U-Uh..”
Whitney stared back, silently waiting for an answer. Perhaps something actually did break inside the core but he didn’t want to tell her? Her concern grew as Wheatley warmed even more til she placed her other hand as though holding him still. As he stuttered, she tilted her head a little. “Everything alright in there, mate?”
Wheatley’s optic was smiling brightly at Whitney. Not only because of what she said to him, but because everytime he looked at the girl, something inside of his circuits tickled a bit. She was a pleasant girl, and something pretty to look at for a change. A little blush warmed up the metal on his ‘cheeks’ and he chuckled shyly. “Thanks, love..”
Whitney’s head tilted as she chuckled. “No problem, mate. Say, are you alright? Ya seem to be heating up?” She asked, concerned as she stood and held a hand to his outer shell which seemed much warmer than usual.
Ah! Finally! He was catching up just a wee bit, not knowing that it was only because of her slowing down for him. He laughed as he got somewhat closer, but as they both reached the room, she clearly had one again.
She cheered for the moment, grinning at him. “Told ya!” Sitting down and leaning into the couch, she smiled. “You aren’t a rotten apple though. More like a very sweet one, ya know?”
“Oh ahahah! Not again!” Wheatley chased Whitney, trying to go a little faster this time. Successful as he was at going faster, he still didn’t fully keep pace with her. Maybe if he had legs it would help. Oh well! The core sped after her, this time keeping good distance to say the least.
Whitney laughed and continued sprinting down the hall. It was fun to see Wheatley even try to keep up, fully knowing cores weren’t built for speed, but she felt kinda bad for somewhat taking that to her advantage and started to slow down a bit.
